Bulges and punctures frequently occur during off-road tire use. In addition to road conditions, what are the other core reasons?

Off-road tire bulges and punctures are not only caused by complex road conditions (such as sharp stones and scratches by sharp rocks), but are also closely related to tire pressure settings, tire wear, load conditions and driving habits. Taking preventive measures can greatly reduce the probability of failure. First of all, improper tire pressure setting is one of the main reasons. Too high tire pressure will cause the tire's cushioning to decrease when off-road, and it will easily bulge when encountering an impact; too low tire pressure will cause excessive deformation of the tire sidewall, and it will easily blow out when driving at high speed or rolling over obstacles. It is recommended to adjust the tire pressure according to the road conditions, appropriately reduce the tire pressure on non-paved roads (to enhance grip), and restore the standard tire pressure when driving on the road. Secondly, if the tires are excessively worn or aged, the thickness of the sidewalls will become thinner and the strength will decrease, and they are also prone to bulges and punctures. The tire tread depth needs to be checked regularly (it needs to be replaced if it is less than 1.6mm), and avoid using aging tires that are more than 5 years old. In addition, an overloaded vehicle will exceed the load-bearing range of the tires and increase the pressure on the sidewalls; rushing downhill at high speeds and rolling over sharp obstacles while off-road will also directly damage the tires. Preventive measures: Regularly check the tire pressure and tire status, replace worn and aging tires in a timely manner; control the vehicle speed when off-road, avoid sharp obstacles, and reasonably control the load; avoid long-term parking in high temperature environments to reduce the tire aging rate and ensure the safety of off-road travel.
